Tarett Engineering Sway Bars
#1

I saw a Tarett Front sway bar on a 944 Turbo at a club race.

They look like something on an F1 car. I like the fact the the front sway bar is adjustable.

1) Is anybody runing them? ...How do you like them?

2) Do they require a special mounting bracket or do they bolt right on.

ira does a great job on anything he makes - they are a tad complicated, but that is what makes them adjustable

adjustable is a good thing / bad thing - if you have the time, expertise, track availability for testing, and the patience, adjustability can be a great way of really dialing in swaybars - if you don't, it can be a painful guessing game that can have some very tragic results if you guess wrong

that's why i designed the bar i did - it mounts much like the standard bars, but is about as much stiffer as the M030 as the M030 is over stock - however, it is not adjustable - i will get to finally play with it (as well as the 22mm rear bar) on the track this weekend

to answer your question though, i think pete has a car in the shop that has that bar

I have the rear bar, and I'm the first one installed on a "stock" 968. It didn't fit with a stock exhaust, but clears with a modified RSBarn exhaust. Ira was surprised that the 968 had a dual pipe, and had modelled the bar on a 944T. They assumed the 968 was the same. Now that I have it working, I rather like it. A little noisy, but functions well. I have the Kokeln front bar, but haven't installed as yet. Do a search for Tarett on this site, and you will find my comments.

I have the Tarret front bar. It works great and having the ability to adjust the front and rear sways is a big help. The front bar has it's own brackets, but they bolt right up.

My Firehawk 968 has the original design that Tarret seems to have copied. I am waiting to drive-test to see if they are an upgrade to MO30 Bars. I'm on the edge as to what is best.

The 944 Turbo Cups had 30MM front and 21MM rear bars. I found an imbalance and liked the 19MM rear better.

Flash has tested a slighty larger front bar 31.5MM Front and 22MM rear. A better balance in my view.

I drove them on the street and feel this could be an excellent choice.

Hope to have some info soon.

Rich,

I agree. The stock MO30 bars are too soft. But there wasn't a "Stiffer setup" that had balance. Flash has been working on this for a while along with many other projects.

It's up to me to pull the trigger and order a batch. It gets complicated as there are bushings and drop links to make.

I will move forward with this.

I have tarett bars f/r, they are beautiful pieces, I have not had them adjusted harder than 'half way' but they feel similar in stiffness than M030, but the feel is a little 'smoother' (the M030 had delrin/RE bushes)Ira says the rear bar is 22mm equivalent.
