OK, I have heard from a couple different sources that a car should be stored off the tires for the sake of flat-spotting. That said, it should not have the suspension kept with no load.
Anybody know why this is? It is not going to F-up your springs or anything is it. Do bushings get weird in the new position?
I just want to know why.....anybody?
I have kept my car on a lift for the winter before with no apparent ill effect. What gives?

If the car is lifted up, and the struts are pulled down by the lack of load, sometimes the chrome part of the insert (piston?) can develop rust because they will now be exposed. When the load is put back on the rust can cut the valves, ruining the shock.
This may not really be a big deal in garage but it is important if a car is left outside.
Sorry for my "non-technical terms".
