Summer in Seattle
#1

Why is it a bad idea? Because Julie on the Love Boat I am not...planning and scheduling - scary.

At the same time - if it's going to be on my calendar now is the time to do it. So 968 owners in the Seattle area - this summer - hook up, sunny drive to parts yet to be determined - have a beverages - fun!

So - Seattle.........um...........must be after July 4 to count on the sun so I am thinking late July. Reply if interested and I will do my best to organize something!

Here's the link to the Portland parade:

Looks like registration starts in March...

Maybe a run in July would be a good tune up to a run down to PDX?

Sounds good to me.

It rains ( surprise ) most July 4th's, so late July/Aug is fine for me.

How many of us are within driving distance of Seattle?

Five or six???

Portland sounds cool, but it will take lots of planning...work, kids...

Count me in!

I'm disappointed that they didn't schedule a PCA Club race that weekend. They used to have one in Portland in August. The Parade hotels are very close to the track.

probably a liability thing - i imagine they figure that there might be too many newbies bending their cars - at least there is an autocross - it will be fun to see just how rusty i have gotten after 15 years of not competing - i see a really big bar tab afterward

A run down to PDX is looking pretty good if part of that really big bar tab is because you're buying.....lol

I would love to connect with other 968 drivers - and Portland would be a good place for me. I am registered for the Parade August 5 to 11. If you look at July 21 to 23 the ALMS races are at PIR so that could be a good time. The Historics are racing at SIR on the July 4th weekend. July 15th is John Walkers famous Seattle Porsche Swap meet in north Seattle near his shop. On September 9 & 10 The City of Kirkland WA (my home town) host the Kirkland Concours and the featured Marque is Porsche. The 16th is the PNWR North Cascades Tour - a great drive. All good reasons to drive north. Lots of Porsche stuff in the North west this summer.
