Such thing as Midnight Blue w/Black Interior?
#21

Yup, full race starts to push the envelope on sanity for a nice daily driver.

Now, daily driver / DE car... that's a no-brainer. You get a Redline Rennsport bolt-in rollbar, 6-point clip-in harnesses, the B-K mounts... presto! A car you can change from DE to street or back in about 30 minutes.

I have finally added a 3rd car to the household so as to lessen my dependency on the race car to get to/from work/airport. Each weekend, a number of cars do not go home under their own power... it's just a reality that stuff happens.

That said, I'll grab the keys to the Porsche over any other car any day, whether it's going to the hardware store or the office. Just hard to be enthusiastic about driving anything else when you've had a 968 to drive year 'round. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

[quote name='josephsc' date='Jul 20 2006, 10:35 PM']There's a 968 in SF (owned by a another guy named Chris) who uses his track car as a daily driver.  It's all a matter of personal comfort level, but you should take a look at what a track/street setup ends up looking like (it's not pretty).

Hey, are you calling my car ugly!?!

I would rather say it's your tolerance for discomfort...

Chris

I think you hit the nail on the head for me. I earn my living as a consultant and I have a number of clients who prefer to for a ride in the Porsche rather that my A6 Avant simply because it is a Porsche and most of them have never been up close to one let along ride in one. So having to climb over a roll cage side bar and put on a 5 point harness so they can endure a bone jarring ride sans air conditioning probably would detract from the experience. Maybe I'll focus on making the 968 the fastest, nicest handling car I can and leave it at that for a while.

At least I know they are out there, I wonder how rare that color combo is?

I have one Midnight Blue with Black interior in the coupe registry. That is out of 400+ cars. Very rare. This particular one is a mid '94 with a LSD, and 17's.

Most had cashmere, grey, or even blue....
