Success,

Hey Guys I would like to thank everybody for all there help in assisting me in my replacement of Cams, cam chain, timing belt and balance shaft replacement.

It was really not to bad, it sounded worse than it really was.

I was really sweating when it cam time to start it but it fired right up and runs awesome!! It seems to be running much smoother which leads me to believe the balance shaft were not set correctly prior.

Well now im going to replace the front, rear and oil pan gasket. I have some oil leaks and its driving me crazy!!!

Thanks again

Im not sure of the chain, I bought all my parts from Pete at the RS Barn. I know Pete knows his stuff so im confident it was quality stuff. Yes i changed the upper and lower pads and boy let me tell you it was a real Pain in the A-- !!!! I ended up compressing with a C-clamp and using a heavy duty tie wrap to hold it together. That was the toughest part of the whole job. I was really sweating before starting, but i turned it over by hand to be sure it turned over freely before actually cranking. Runs nice and smooth now.

I also bought an Exhaust, upper and lower braces, chip,K&N filter from Pete and moded the airbox as well and it really woke the car up. The only thing was the exhaust was far from a bolt on!!! I am electrician and I have a Hydraulic bender and I had to use it in a couple of spots to get the exhaust to fit correctly. When i really hammer it the gas in 1st gear i can hear it hitting the rear sway bar, at least thats what I think it is. I have to ck and fix it. Thats the bad news, the good news is that it sounds Aewsome!!!

I only had driven the car about 20 miles since I installed it all on Saturday (5-24-08) However I can noticed a HUGE diff. in cornering and the car feels much more stable. I also installed the MO30 front and rear sway bars on Saturday as well. Like I said in my last post I really can not pinpoint which part works best because I did it all at the same time. At the end of the day it was all worth it, My wallet is not happy though, haha.

Hey Xrad,

Did you have a tough time installing your exhaust??? Mine was a real Bear!!!! O yea, your car looks Aewsome w/thoose rims!!!!

No..came with the car....but fit appears excellent and it is a 2 piece kit. Stainless throughout. Front section bolts to square flange..hangers all line up perfectly...rear section has a cut in it so it slides to adjust with the front section. NICE heavy duty wide strap exhaust clamp, too. Whole rear section(including muffler) was polished, but covered in dirt.

thanks for the compliment...runs great,too!
