Strosek Sideskirts
#21

I agree that the price is too high! I'd be interested if they were priced in the $400 range and if they use the stock mounting clips and bolts. Considering the limited market, it would seem to be good business to sell two or three sets or more at $400 rather than no sets at $800 but that's just how I think. I agree with Rhudeboye, " Put that on a black 968, 18" Twist rims, mesh the air inlet to match the front mesh. Yeaaaa"
I like them, but think the price is high. I was looking through the latest Exellence and spotted some real nice side skirts for the 911 for $400.00.

I would go $4-500 on these.

The company that used to sell these (from France) no longer does. I guess they sold the molds to these guys.

Let us know what you work out. Maybe we could dictate a price if enough people were in on the buy.
They didnt buy the mold. They buy the product. The september price is cheaper because he is recieving a big shipment then. So shipping costs will be less in september. If we get enough interest, i'll work out a price for us. As it is now...nobody seems serious.

So the question now is. Who here is really interested, and if so, how much are you willing to spend on these skirts. So far...i'd be interested....So would you @ $400-500.

has anyone looked into wha they are made of?

on the presumption that we are talking about the ones that just go on the bottom, and not the ones that are also part of the quarterpanels, i don't have any issue with the price at all, and think it is quite fair at $500 for the pair

i would like to see closer shots indicating the fit and finish, as well as the mounting - do you still use the rubber gasket? is there provision for the fender gap? does the rear clip still attach?

i would also like to see a shot of the back side to determine what would be necessary for ducting adaptation

Fox...at $500 they look good. You can count me in. I can't imagine there are many people buying this product as there is no advertising or any visual to lead people to it.

It looks like they mount just like the factory ones do, but that is just my guess.

I think they update the look of the car myself.

Flash, yes, we are reffering to the ones that just go on the bottom, not the ones that are grafted into the wide body 1/4's. (they are the same skirt btw).

they are made of fiberglass like all strosek parts, there is a provision for the fender, and the rear clip does attach. The skirts come with all the mounting hardware needed. As for the rubber gasket, Fred could not answer my question as he does not recall.

If i order 4 sets, we can get them at 30% off list ($980)...which puts us at $685 a set.

hmmm - at 685 a set, i really need to see some much better shots, especially of the back side - that seems like a pretty stiff markup - as i remember the other skirt units like that are about half that much

i just went through the process of the fitting of a fiberglass piece, and am not anxious to do it again - if this piece is not paint ready concourse perfect (that means no sanding, fitting, etc) then i think i'll have to pass for the time being

i must be nuts for even thinking about this

im going to try and get photos if i can.

What other company made skirts like these?

They claim the pieces are paint ready....however, i agree that the price is steep.

The main reason these interest me is the exclusivity, and the thought that they could be made functional.

as for being nuts.....you knew you were nuts when you bought your car...as did i. Nothing new......well, you are possibly crazier then i am....

pieces like these, ranging from oem replicas to wildly flared pieces are out there - they go from inexpensive to outrageous - try a search for gt racing, A.I.R. and arktech (sp?) - those are 3 i can think of right off

I have the A.I.R. front & rear spoilers. They also make a wide body kits. Arktech's websight no longer works......i wish it did...i would prolly buy their modified fenders & 993 litronic headlight conversion. I need to check out GT racing......havnt checked them out for years.

I asked for a price quote the other day and the side skirts were 624 euro for the pair and 410 euro for the

front splitter, not sure what the cost would be in US but probably a little steep after shipping. but I do like the look of that cab how the wide body kit gets rid of that cap on top of the rear fenders ,Very clean!

Oh and thedoor handle delete is a nice touch too <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

I'm interested if we can get the price below $500. Since I live in New Jersey, shipping would not be an issue and may get the price below $500. This is all dependent on the rocker panels using the stock fastners. I think I read some place that the cost for a set of stock rocker panels is around $400 so under $500 without shipping is in the ball park.

I went to the betterbodies.com site and they do fiberglass and flexable plastic versions mostly for the 911 series. Prices start about $400 and go up to $5ish for the flex stuff. Their stuff looks nice. They have sills for 944, but not the 68. Their ducts are functional.

bump on this one......any word on them coming down in price?? Can't be too many customers for these things. Seems if they had a few orders they would deal on these otherwise obsolete body panels.
