Rennsport Reunion IV at Laguna Seca? Oct. 13th-16th
#21

I hope to come out to the paso event though I sort of doubt that I will drive out! Flash was kind enough to not only put me up for the Ortega run at his B&B, but he let me drive his cab! Pa. Is a state that doesn't let you ship in. However, my wine broker from Santa Rosa ships wine to me all year long via UPS with no problem. For the last 10 years. I understand of course if that is not something that you are willing to do.

I sent a photo taken of me next to a bunch of race cars to one of my buddies in SoCal who drives a 911sc and I always kid and give him crap everytime we talk cars about those upside down bathtubs with engine location mistakes .. so he writes back re the photo saying that he is surprised to see me standing next to all those 911s.. to which I replied : Aw, I’m just doing charity work, that’s the only thing ( me photographed next to one ) that gives those cars some dignity and respectability they otherwise lack :-) :-)

His response was : I hope your water pump leaks ! :-) :-) All in good fun, of course.

Perhaps you should let him drive yours to see what he is missing!

Rap, funny you should bring that up. I did let him drive the 968 and he was amazed. But on the other side of the coin, I drove his car as well, and I have to say, as underpowered as that car is ( it's a 1980 ) it was so raw, such a sports car feel to it that I have very little negative to say about it..in fact I prefer it by far over my local friend's 05 or 06 or thereabouts Carrera 4 which I dove and which I thought was one of the most uninspiring cars ..yuk !

Hey, now there's a mission ! All of us seek out 911 owners , talk them into driving our cars which will no doubt cause the wise ones among them to trade in their 911s for 968s ( not to mention they'll be able to buy a handful of them in trade for one of theirs ) and before you know it this forum will have so many members flash will need to boost the systems again just to keep up with bandwidth demands.

I love the slippery slope of automotive excess...if only it did not take up so much time and resources (money, cut fingers, gashed knuckle....)

The basic human condition is one of stupidity....

The potential population is unfortunately finite and shrinking every day,...

Perhaps those more oh how shall I say it more upscale 911 owners can be convinced that the scarcity has driven up the price on our mint 968's!

See the " Porsche exclusivity " thread for supporting arguments in favor of increased value ;-)
