My sister got nabbed by aircraft ticket in Ohio. The good news with the economy and bankrupt states is the inability to afford to fly aircraft.

Excellent!!!!!

That is exactly the thought that I had when I saw that sign for the first time. I was thinking fixed wing, but the same idea - great stuff.

We used to have this type of sign over here is Australia. To give you an idea of the timing when it was up, most signs were graffitied with the slogan;

"Pigs In Space!"

We have much better cars but we are being forced to drive slower and slower.

Over here, it is Caravan drivers and slow drivers doing 80km/h on major roads that drive everyone nuts - but they do not get booked.

agreed - here it's camrys and prius - the one that makes me most nuts is the guy in the prius alone in the commuter lane (which he's entitled to do here) who drives well below the flow of traffic

California's speed trap laws are absurd when it comes to airplane enforcement. They usually pick a stretch of road where there are white markers a mile apart. The cop in the plane isn't allowed to just time your car between the markers. Rather, he is supposed to fly the plane at the same speed as your car and time his plane between the markers. I seriously doubt any cop really does it this way. One saving grace is that when you fight an airplane ticket, both cops have to appear in court. The one in the plane can testify the car was speeding, but can't testify that you were the driver. The one on the ground that pulls you over can testify you drove, but not that you were speeding. If either cop fails to show up in court the case is dismissed. If both show up, at least you pulled two traffic cops off the street for a couple of hours.
