Source of door trim in Denver or LA
#1

Hi Folks

Can anyone put me onto places that may have a used door trim panel for sale in either of Denver or LA? I've been searching for a used black interior door trim panel, RHS for some time. I'm in Australia and they are next to impossible to source here. I am visiting the Denver and briefly LA in a few weeks which gives me the chance of hunting one down while I'm in the US.

Thanks.

Yeah maybe. I have tried but places don't seem too enthusiastic. I found a tan one at 20th street Auto Parts in Phoenix and their response is that its too large to ship to Australia at a "sensible price". They will send it to me while I'm in the US of course. Other thing is that I would prefer to see the panel before I buy, so I'd like to try and find one in Denver or LA. So if you know of a used parts place in either of those cities that specialises in Porsche stuff I'd love to hear about them

Try Parts Heaven at (800) 767-7250 or www.partsheaven.com they are in Hayward California, zip 94545. They should be able to provide whatever you need. Good luck, Bob Blackwell.

If you fail to find a black one don't be afraid of the tan one; I have had success in using the spray dyes. Making the door panel black is the easiest colour to do as it's so forgiving.

Thanks for the info Dave. I am a bit "afraid" although your not the first to tell me that recolouring is not a problem.

I replaced my dark blue dash in my 944 S2 with a new black one. I had to spray it dark blue to match and was very leary but it actually worked and covered evenly. Waited a week or so and put 303 protectant on it and it looks just great. The cool think is if you scuff the dash with your runners down low you can just mask the are, spray it and voila, the scuffs are gone <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
