Any idea why I am getting this? This represents about 1300 km driving in two days. I have an RS Barn stage 2 chip with the full exhaust.

Gave up trying to upload the image - it is soot all around the back valance near the tailpipe tip.

most likely too rich. can be many reasons beside a/f ratio program on chip. bad spark plugs, timing curve, air filter, oil burning..etc

how long has the chip been in place?

I had same thing with another chip brand, switched it back to stock and added Crane digital MSD. plenty of power, clean ass end.

In the last two days ( never before, because I would have easily noticed this ) a bunch of soot has accumulated on the driveway, under my exaust tip , and also a small amount roughly under where the intake manifold ( yes, the intake , not the exhaust manifold ) is located. Strangely enough there is very little , almost no soot inside the exhaust tip itself ( I guess it all blows out of there and lands on the pavers , lol ). It's nothing more than black dust so easily brushed away , but this is an entirely new phenomenon .

Editing this a few hours later in the day .. I realized that in my effort to determine if I can isolate where the exhaust buzzing / resonance might be coming from, I took a rubber mallet and started hitting the entire set-up from just ahead of the catalytic all the way back to the exhaust tip to see if I can find a rattle. So maybe I knocked loose a bunch of that soot lining the pipes and muffler walls and it just blew out when I started the car . Still don't know how a small part of that soot got under the engine though..
