Interestingly enough I had just pulled into my driveway and had opened the door of the 968 when it started. It was a good one here in Santa Monica with the car rockin and rollin! Ran into the house and there were a couple pictures down but nothing broken.

Ay! Glad to read all is well....

I don't know what I would prefer given a choice: An east coast hurricane every so often with plenty of warning or an unannounced shake...

And just to add a little 968 content, I wonder how a car would fare up on one of those mid-height scissor lifts during one of those?

lol - a couple of weeks ago ayn's firm moved from the us bank building (tallest building west of the mississippi) - that would have been interesting - her current building is also on rollers - kept going for a while

hmm, with a little bit of editing ( above excerpt ) those of us with minds in the gutter could read this and start daydreaming..

ok, but enough of that - glad to hear at least those who responded so far are ok, and hope all others in SoCal have been unscathed.. their 968s also, with nothing falling off the garage shelves on to them

Yes BigL2U....I ran (on foot) into my house after the rolling had stopped.

It was really odd watching my home "sway in the wind" from the seat of my car when the quake hit....one of those surreal moments.

And flash.....did you hear the one about the dumb blonde that.......

...borrowed Bob's car for the day and called him in a state of panic because she locked herself out of the vehicle, key still in the ignition but worst of all it was starting to rain and the top was down ..

10 seconds of cheap thrills here in La Jolla. Pretty cool how the automated system had the quake posted within a couple of minutes.

I called home and asked that the tools near the 968 be removed from the wall mount to the table. I'll have to police the garage a bit to make sure that crap can't get shaken onto the car Man that would piss me off proper.

Up the coast in Ventura Co. we moved/shook quite a bit too and I heard it was felt further north in Santa Barbara. I was in a tilt up commercial building and was amazed how much it moved without any damage! The water-table is relatively high in Vta Co.; so there's always an extended rolling motion after an EQ.

Just another day in So Cal...

Glad to hear you're all good out there, I never felt an earthquake but imagine it to be cool and un-nerving at the same time
