Has anyone else noticed that XM has better signal than Sirius? My Denali had XM radio and it never lost signal other then when sitting in the garage. My new Ram has Sirius radio and every time I go under an overpass or on a back road with trees it loses signal.
I did some research and found it has to do with how the satellites orbit the earth. XM satellites (2) stay over the equator while the Sirius radio satellites (3) do a figure 8 over north and south America, the bottom of the 8 (south America) is much larger than the top so there is less time directly over the US.
Luckily my Sirius is free for a year but once its up I won't be continuing the service. I might even go as far as swapping the head unit for one that supports XM.

When I still had XM (after the merger) signal was never an issue, but just as you said, I didn't get it to listen to DJ's or plugs.
Since the Ram has MyGig is has a hard drive and Aux input so other sources aren't a problem but I hate having to load music onto the drive or onto my Zune so I can listen in the truck. Also XM\Sirius have a nice variety incase I want to listen to something other than the norm.
The more I search many Sirius users have the same problem that I do. I don't see how people can live with it, especially since you have to pay for the service.

After Clear Channel bought into XM I was ready to cancel since the CC stations have commercials. Luckily XM added new stations at the same time which had the same content but no commercials.
During the merger XM lost Squizz in favor of Octane which was upsetting.
Does anyone have HD Radio? How is it?
