Spotted 968's @ IMA
#1

Just dropped my 968 off at IMA in Fairfax and saw a white 968 and a very very clean black one there as well. The black one was on a lift and even the under coverings looked mint condition.

Would like to talk with either of the owners regarding IMA, assuming they're board members.

Reply or drop me a PM

Thanks

Dave

dave - the black one you saw was prob'ly mine - unless there's more than one black one there. i'm in deep - new guard's limited slip, new pinions and syncros, etc. so far I have no complaints about IMA - they're behind schedule but that can be blamed on waiting for parts. it was supposed to be ready to go thursday eve but after a test drive something was wrong with sixth gear - so out comes the tranny *again* for another look.

From the looks of it, it's not your daily driver. Never the less the wait must still be hard during nice summer days like this past Saturday.

I was posting because I neglected to ask them about there guarantee, but I supposed I'll just speak with them in the morning regarding that matter.

On a side note, Chris was nice enough to give me a walk through and run down on some there competition vehicles. A twin turbo 1000HP 993 and a 750HP 968 Turbo. The 993 will be running at summit point this Tuesday which is why they were in on a Sat. Seeing the work put into those machines was a big confidence boost.

Think the bearings have to come from Germany (that's what stalled my tranny work a couple of weeks ago), so that sounds like a ligit issue on any delay.

Hopefully, I get mine back tomorrow. Shake down at the track Wednesday

I have been going to Ivan's shop for 10+ years and would recommend them (without) hesitation for anyone. Chris is now his main mechanic and knows 968s as well as anyone. His race car projects are amazing although he had a fire in the BIG BLUE twin turbo a Summit Point while on the track (testing) and drove it to the pits so the car could be saved ( no corner workers). He will stand behind his work. I had my car in for a check up and the mechanic accidently punctured the radiator. They immediately go a new one and replaced it. Ivan also works for the TPC race team (24 hrs of Daytona winners). Can't enough good things about IMA. Your in good hands.

Sounds like I've found the right shop for my 68. Its nice to hear that the board is in agreement that they're all professionals at IMA.

Rustech- I'll get you a few pics of the 968-T when I pick up my car. I was going to snap a few anyway.

Apex- Thats your DAILY! Thats amazing.
