Lighter flywheel
#1

I'm looking for a slightly lighter flywheel for my N/A 968.

Nothing exstreme but something that just makes it rev a little faster. Car is daily driven but will see some autoslalom and track days.

I remember a thread a while back where someone went through the different types and pros/cons. But I can't seem too search my way to it. All I find is that I'm not gonna get the 12lbs Fidanza ones, too much hassle.

Anyone know of a flywheel that's likter than stock without much vibration or cold start issues?

I have the RSBarn 18lb, no problem with starting or reversing etc, it does have on the overrun a vibration/noise around 2300 revs but thats all.

there is another thread about this going on right now.

both of the fidanza units (the 12lb and the 18lb rs barn unit) exhibit nearly identical issues. neither has seen a resolution to them. additionally, both require a modification to prevent the bolts from backing out.

search is your friend

This is so important I did the search for you. Flash has identified a real and serious problem with these aluminum flywheels. You will find a fix in this thread, and if you get one of these be sure to do it.
