Dropped my top
#1

So, I did it...

Removed the sunroof and its components as part of the making my car a Frankenstein.

I weighed the sunroof panel; it's about 21lbs just by itself! Then if I take into account the weight of the motor, back cables, wires, tracks and such...I bet there is another 15 lbs of junk that came out.

All of it up high on the car, too!

We figure the cage weighs in around 105 lbs. So, I'm getting it back little by little.

We used braced aluminum...Reynold's Wrap, not Saran Wrap!

That'll keep the roll bar from fading unlike the saran wrap. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

After speaking to my regular mechanic, I think we're going to get a roof skin.

It looks a bit too much, ah, like a NASCAR type of modification. What with the aluminum and pop rivets and such.

The idea was good, the execution wasn't what I was looking for.
