shameless promotion
#1

Well, I was not planning to bring this up, but since it's already on the RL forum ( and I'm not even a member there, lol ).. long story short, here's the link : http://www.esquirebdrm.com/profiles/5137#photo8
That's me, among ONLY 2,700 or so other contestants ( hey, I was nominated by a friend, could not let her down so I obliged by responding to Esquire Mag's invitation ) so que sera, sera !
Had I taken a photo with the 968, I would be the hands down winner when this is all decided in a few months, but no cars allowed - sigh !
In the meantime, vote, vote, vote ! If I win I'm donating the $ 20k "value" to charity. Not the IWC watch though, just the threads. Talk about ego.. putting the cart before the horse..

btw, if you click on the thumbnail pix row ( scroll l-r ) it should come up in the full frame.. but does not work all the time.

Technical and fashion advice all in the same place, awesome.
Now are the socks supposed to go with the shoes or the pants? I always forget.

Your choice for pic one was perfect. That tie really sets off that suit.

You had better remind us when voting begins.

Well, as long as " Flat Stanley " does not enter the contest I may have a shot at this, that's some spiffy outfit he's sporting all around the world and building a huge fan base, no doubt.
I think the voting starts in five days.

On a serious note, good luck, looks like fun! I could never enter one of those- the glare of the flash bulb on my melon would ruin the pics!!!

You know Daper Dan, I would have figured you to be the fundies type.

Kidding aside, All that's missing is a nice Aston to round out the "package".

Pat- stop staring @ Dan's package....

I agree about the Aston comment.

Definitely some cool photos. Would they allow any pics with Tshirts and jeans??

Seriously, one of my biggest regrets in life is the money I spent on that wardrobe, instead of...an Aston for example, now that you mentioned it Totaling the cost ( when new ) of all that I purchased just in the 90s easily exceeds the price of a brand new DB9, my favorite car of all time.. WTF was I thinking ?! Did not even have to compromise quality, just quantity and I would have had a DB9 next to the 968 in the garage now. But then again, the same can be said about money spent on vacations, restaurants, etc.. so I'm sure all of us have one of those D'OH ! moments in retrospect and realize better things we should have thought of but didn't..

Damn Dan, that's a lot of money to spend on threads! You do look dapper though. Do we all get a chance to vote?

That's the problem, you spend $ 500 here, $ 1,000 there and your brain ( well my brain, anyway ) does not think forward to aggregate those incremental costs over a span of X number of years or decades calculating a probable total figure... whereas,
when you contempalte buying a big ticket item like a DB9 your brain ( again, mine anyway.. ) goes : WHOA , are you insane ?!

That might also explain how Flash ended up owning a $ 100,000 +/- 968

I think you can vote starting Monday although from what I read it's about 1/3 of the criteria, the 5 finalists and ultimately the winner decision is made entirely by the magazine's style editors, regardless of how many votes one gathers...I think the voting is mostly designed to see how much interest there is out there in this, and perhaps what percentage of those are potentially new subscribers

BTW, funny Bio should mention jeans and t-shirts : that's what I'm wearing all the time when I'm not at work. But here's a tip for anyone that cares: either wear a pair of $ 50 jeans with a $ 250 t-shirt , or wear a $ 300 pair of jeans with a $ 20 t-shirt. And never compromise on shoes.
Oh, one last word of wisdom that has nothing to do with fashion or cars, but IMO worth sharing :

Remember, it's not how big her boobs are, it's how big they are in relationship to the circumference of her upper arm

Ok, enough of this, now back to what really matters : 968s !!!!

Still hanging in.. now in the remaining 450 contestants group ( approx 2,200 of the original ones already weeded out by the magazine ..) And by tomorrow only 25 semifinalists will be left. Not holding my breath on that one though, zero chance of that happening..
