OK. Several parts to this question and yes, I have searched for answers. Driver's seat (rearward) switch that lowers the rear section of the seat goes up but not down. First guess is the switch is broken just because it seems to be a common issue. All the other switches make a "click" noise when depressed. This one makes the noise when you push it up but not when you push it down. Second reason I think it's the switch. I'm ok with a wrench and taking stuff apart but not so good at electrical stuff. Shoudl I verify this is the problem before I replace the switch? Anyone have instructions for dummies? I have a multi meter but really don't understand it.
Someone on here said they took the switch apart and rebuilt it? Is this a viable option? Easy or hard?
Seats are out of the car. Does the switch come out easy?
Finally, just got my Certificate of Authenticity for the car. It lists a power drivers seat as an option but not a power passenger seat. But the power options on both seats are the same? Manual slide with two 2-way power switches on both seats? If it is the same seat how come a power passenger seat is not listed as an option? If I have a power seat option did the car originally have the 4-way switches? Just wondering. -Tom

Pulling the seats are easy, two elec plugs and 4 Allen head bolts. That's it.

Anybody done a DIY on reconditioning these switches? My passenger seat switch isn't working in one of the directions. Seems this is a fairly common problem...would be very cool to have some photos and instructions for those that want to try it.

Just put a shot of WD-40 into the little hole on top of my non-functioning passenger seat switch...and whammo...it works! Seat now moves in both directions.
