Saw my first Cybertruck
#21

I’m telling you guys , I designed the Tesla cyber truck way before Elon Musk was even born,  when I was in my pre-school art class…

I saw my first CyberTruck in the flesh yesterday.   It was on a flat-bed tow truck!  The thing looked like a DeLorean that’s put on a bunch of middle-age weight.

Regardless of how you feel about the Cybertruck, a lot of the hate seems targeted at Tesla. At the end of the day, Elon's politics aside, this is the most American car made.

I'm rooting for its success regardless of my thoughts on the Cybertruck.

Agreed - I have nothing against Tesla.  What they've done (successfully breaking into the car making business) is an amazing achievement, which so many (Delorean, Tucker, Bricklin, Fisker, Yugo, Suzuki, Isuzu, to name a few) have failed at.  So I have a lot of respect for Tesla, even though I don't personally find any of their models particularly appealing, or particularly enjoyable to drive.  I just find the Cybertruck to be uniquely horrid - in the running for the ugliest vehicle since the dawn of the horseless carriage.  At least it doesn't guzzle gas.

Saw my first Cybertruck running on its own power this morning.    It is now official; it has displaced the Pontiac Aztek at the top of the "All-time Ugliest Car" list!

I don't even play a psychologist on TV, so take everything I'm about to say with a Cybertruck-sized grain of salt, but I have to believe that the vast majority of people who buy them aren't doing so because it meets their vehicular needs.  There has to be some underlying factor at play, such as an insatiable desire to be the center of attention, a sense of insecurity, the need to demonstrate their sense of always being at the epicenter of the latest trends, or compensating for some other deficiency.  I understand that the same could be said for drivers of flashy exotics like Lamborghini's, but I think that's more a case of flaunting ones' wealth.  Am I implying that drivers of Cybertrucks aren't "normal"?  Maybe.  But then again, who's to say what's normal and what's aberrant behavior?

"But then again, who's to say what's normal and what's aberrant behavior?"

Yea, like people who bond with 30 year old rare vehicles for which one must often perform searches worthy of the Holy Grail just to find NLA parts?

hehehehe

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. That said, some peoples views are questionable.

Yes, and a lot of “beholders” are also blind.    IMHO.

When I look at the Cybertruck, I behold the most hideous thing I've ever seen on four wheels.

But on the more encouraging side, I think the new Prius, of all things, is absolutely drop-dead gorgeous -sleek, modern, even borderline futuristic, without looking the least bit "weird".  I've seen a lot more of these than I have Cybertrucks, so maybe the universe does balance itself out.
