I thought this might be appreciated around here.

I remember seeing this years ago. I wonder how they came up with some of the symbols - Bp for the 911, for example. Bipolar? Anyway, it's nice to see something sports car-oriented show up - it seems like the "special interest" automotive landscape these days (TV shows about cars, auctions, car shows, etc.) are centered around muscle cars, and I for one am totally sick of it. Other than trucks and huge SUVs that block my view, I can't think of an automotive genre I despise more than muscle cars - "Gee, let's put a mega-horsepower big block hunk of iron into a chassis incapable of handling more than 100 hp, sell it cheap enough to attract people who have no business driving a death trap like this, and call it something cool-sounding." Blah! And now they're selling for mega-dollars! Give me a Fiat 124, Toyota MR2, a 240Z, or an MG over any of these piles of crap any day. Rant over...

Fun chart.

As for the Fiat 124 mention ..I had a ' 74 coupe, and to this day I have nothing but fond memories of how enjoyable that car was to drive and nice looking on top of it all, if I may say so myself... :-). I'd drive that again over any of the big-ass useless mega-power heaps.

That said, just saw a survey today which indicated that women find men who drive pick up trucks to be most attractive, but Porsches were listed in the number three spot.. link below. Btw, I have not looked at reconciling the periodic table with the cars listed in the survey :-)

Sigh... I'm so out of touch with the times. If I were single, I'd be seriously challenged, automotive-wise, because trucks are the exact opposite of what I like in a vehicle, which is small, light, nimble, low center of gravity, sure-footed, etc. Everything a truck is not, in other words. But pretty much the same thing could be said of muscle cars. I'm afraid us sports car guys are a dying breed...

I had a 71 Fiat 124 Sport Coupe. What's not to like about a Lampredi, 2twin cam 4attached to a 5-speed gear box, w disk brakes all around.

'67 850 Coupe, my first car. When I bought it I knew how to put gas in it, not much else. When I left Socal and sold it four years later, I'd (of necessity) learned to rebuild the engine, swap out a tranny, rebuild a carb, and I carried spare engine/tranny wing mounts as they broke every 5000 miles or so. It got so I could do the swap on the side of the road in 15 minutes.

My brother had an X1/9. A fun little car that I got to drive from San Antonio to NY. It fell apart at 60K miles. I always liked the 124, especially the Spyder.

Fiats? That brings back some memories! My second car was a 125 (don't think you saw them in the States), 128, 124BC, 124CC, 124 wagon, 131... Hence changing cam and balance belts holds no challenges for me! After that, I went to Alfas. Learned a bit about welding up rust holes there, but that's another story...
