What other cars do you own?
#1

Thought this would make for some interesting convo and perhaps even be a helpful resource down the road. i.e. 2 members owning the same Audi can PM each other about pats, problems etc.

So here is my list

1994 Porsche 968 a weekend car that I enjoy spending money on. Stays pretty clean and is currently problem free. Garage kept.

2002 BMW 330i My DD and gets little attention as far as upgrades go. I do plan on a few modest ones in the near future but nothing major. Stays in the driveway and every now and then gets in the garage.

2008 Camry SE V6 Wife's DD Problem free and I wash it when i have to. Garage kept. No sticky accelerator outside of my wifes foot. K&N filter added.

1997 Land Cruiser Sits all the way out on the street. Used when needed. Dirty as hell inside out. A couple of rust spots are developing. Recently developed a power steering leak so turning is a bit noisy. This would be the most neglected of all the vehicles but is also the most reliable. I would like to restore it one day.

early 94 968 cab - spends most of its time on jackstands getting one mod or another - lol

late 94 968 cab - spends most of its time with the father in law taking it back and forth to the golf course

1965 TR-4A - awaiting time and space for restoration

2007 carson 18' race trailer - spends most of its time awaiting the next transport of one of the above

2006 yukon denali - spends most of its time running parts around for all of the above

2007 SL550 - spends most of its time carting wife around so i can be free to deal with all of the above

2006 Volvo S60 - Wife's car, safety is the #1 factor for all decisions involving her and driving.

2002 Volvo S40 - Train station car, loads of deer in our area and the Miata had enough after 4 deer strikes. Was forced to eat my words about safety after I made wife buy Volvo. Cool little 1.9L Turbo though.

Last year around this time i had a 2004 Audi A6 4.2 W/ Sport Package & 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport (Lifted W/ Bushwacker fendres etc etc). Replaced both with a pair of MKIV VW Golf's, 1 is a 1.8T & the other a TDi. Also had a Ducati 748 Superbike with an 853 big bore kit that was stolen and is in the process of being recovered. However, insurance wont sell it back to me....grrrrrr

Funny you started this thread. Last night i was thinking about starting two new threads...This exact same topic and another thread titled 968 Owners & their pets...seeing what kind of pets (if any) does everyone here own. I may post that up tonight unless someone else does it before me.

Hey, I started a thread like that back on the SW20 (MR2) forum. it was the "Post a pic of your pet thread" Went on for something like 9 pages. And not just cats & dogs, there was everything from horses to turtles.

Flash - congrats on the TR-4. That's the only car I've heard you speak on with more passion then the 68. Didn't know you found one though. Would love to follow the restoration process.

2003 Saab 9-5 Aero; 5-speed stick. Daily Driver. All stock. FWIW, it's faster from 40 to 90 than the 968, but damn scary when the turbo kicks in and you get the torque steer!

2001 Acura MDX - Wife's kid mover. She loves it

1990 Isuzu Trooper - 335,000 miles and still going strong. My favorite. I've decided I'm going to be buried in it.

1994 Porsche 968 used as a daily driver. It is also taken on longer trips when we don't need to carry a lot of extra stuff. It has been driven to Montana on fly fishing trips more than once. routinely hauls cases of wine AKA the Wein Zug

2000 Audi A6 Avant used for everything else. This is the car we use in bad weather because of its all wheel drive. Also used when we have a lot of stuff to haul. With the roof carrier it makes trips to the lumber yard, Home Depot, and the local nursery. It too has made many long trips. Fast, comfortable and utterly safe.

rhude - didn't "find" one - wasn't looking either - not passionate about it yet, but i do love british sports cars - as i said above, i "inherited" this one from the father in law who just can't drive it anymore - i'll probably start on in about a year - no time or space right now - unfortunately/fortunately i'll probably get the white car back and have the tr4 to deal with all at the same time

and to make matter worse, i think i want to upgrade the trailer to a longer one, get a real truck to tow it, and i am now looking at 360s

i definitely need a much bigger garage again - time to build a new house

1992 968 - Daily Driver

1989 944 S2 Ex-daily driver (Still trying to pluck up the courage to sell it)

2001 Audi A6 2.4 - resurrected as wife's daily driver. (Despite its age, it is still a phenomenal car compared to the newer MB C-class)

2008 Merc C200 Kompressor - Was wifes DD. I hated it so I sold it

Looking for a 2006/7 A8 4.2 or maybe the V10 S8 to replace the A6 next year

I try to keep all the cars clean, but really only manage to keep the 968 really clean, the 944 S2 groomed, but dusty. I just spent 3 hours last weekend detailing the engine of the Audi. Next weekend is carpets and leather.

We try to keep with the "sporty" theme with our vehicles, but these other two acknowledge the fact that we do get snow here in Colorado! In fact, we got some this morning.

2006 Cayenne Turbo S - wife's daily driver. 520hp of "wow".

2001 Audi S4 Avant - my daily driver. Absolutely love it!

We just sold our 968 coupe and our 924S, which were also great cars, but had to go to fund a race car.

Toyota Prado - 4.0 Petrol - drank like a drunk in a brewery (30 litres per 100km when towing the trailer), reverse sensors never worked - who says Toyota builds quality cars

1992 Porsche 968 - Weekend/after work fun car, garage kept

2007 BMW 328i - Wife's primary car, garage kept

2003 BMW X5 - Family vacation car, and the one my wife likes to drive when it's raining. Sadly, this beautiful car needs to stay on the driveway, but always under a solid coat of wax

2004 BMW 325i - Daughter's car. Occupies the other driveway spot, always waxed as well

2003 Chrysler Town & Country minivan - Primarily used to drive to the pick-up location of the vanpool I commute in.

This is ridiculous - five cars, and I don't even drive myself to work! One of them has to go, but I'm not sure which. And what I REALLY want is a dedicated track car.
