The other night I was invited to a forum on the opioids crisis by our Congressman. Actually his chief of staff is one of our board members who invited me. There were other politicians on stage including some folks from different agencies such as DA, police, pathologist and of course our representative. During the course of the evening I became increasingly dismayed by the utter lack of knowledge and misinformation being spewed by these politicians. A child could have googled opioids and been better able to speak not only informatively but more importantly, accurately.


This is just one issue that was being dealt with here. Can you imagine if you extrapolate that to issues across the board? I know and like some of these folks. They are both d's and r's just so this doesn't take on any sort of political bias.


Sitting there it occurred to me why we have such difficulties in Washington and our state capitols. Not that I'm thinking that socialism or communism is better, it isn't but holy crow. Time to go to the garage!

I have found that most politicians hear only their own narrative, regardless of the topic.
