Be Careful Out There
#1

Driving home one evening last week, at about dusk, I came accross an unusual circumstance. Out of the ditch at full speed comes a mature black bear headed straight at me. I'm the only car on the narrow highway, with a loud exhuast, so I didn't sneak up on him. So there we are both surprised, he's putting the brakes on, I'm putting the brakes on, we're looking at each other in disbelief while I'm trying to avoid him, when thud, he goes head first into the drivers door.

Minor damage, body shop yet to discover how much, but its a porsche so it will surpass my $500 deductible.

Bear is OK, bounced off, shook his head, and ran off into the bush with a headache!

My buddies are saying he thought he just wanted a piece of that sleek sexy black thing!!

Heads up on the highways!

If you check with your insurance company you will discover that when you and an animal hit each other, it is considered to be the animals fault. What this means is that is not the $500 collision deductible, but the usual $100 deductible for comprehensive coverage.

Minor damage usually means parts, body work, paint and on and on...

You should ask your PM the best place as paint work has many levels of quality.

Hit a deer with my car last summer. $6,000.00

I did that in my truck several years ago -- except it was in the middle of the day on a busy highway leading down to Yosemite valley. They're like giant racoons there. Pretty durable beasts -- he also just shook it off and ran off.
