Returning member
#1

Hello everyone,

I am a returning member who became inactive over 8 years ago. I recently revived my interest in my 968 (1992 coupe Tiptronic - slate gray) which has been garaged and seldom driven in the last 6 years. I live in Birmingham, Alabama and would like to meet other 968 owners in the area and other locations.

Welcome back. Much has changed, I would suspect, in the years past.

There's a bunch of new stuff for your car, thanks mostly to flash. Other than that the car is the same. Fast and fun to drive. Put some gas in that girl and get out there !

8 years is a very long time, so much has happened..

Enjoy the site and we hope you won't wait another 8 years until you post again

Thanks to all for the inspiring replies.

I have been making up for the years of neglect. Timing and balance belt changed, all major componemts in AC system being replaced (it gets really hot and humid in Alabama in the summer time - AC is a must for me), dash removed to replace evaporator core, odometer repair, instrument cluster lighting repair, glitches in window switches and electric sun roof operating mechanism, replaced brake fluid and engine coolant for starters.

I decided to do the work myself (with the exception of evacuating and initial fill/charge of AC system) to get to know my ride better. I'm getting great technical advice from the local Porsche repair shop which has been a great help. I'm taking my time and not rushing to get done quickly (the dash removal was fun ) . Once this round of repairs/maintenance is done, I will move on to other needed services and upgrades.

It is good to be back among others who love the 968.
