Replacing the Ingintion Coil
#1

I was looking through the 968 manuals and I found this in the DME Diagnostic section of supplement 3:

"The specified ignition coil (refer to Order No.) must not be replaced by a different coil."

this is in supplement 3 D 24/28 - 3

Does anyone know anything about this? Does anyone with an MSD coild have problems?

I have an MSD coil, 1 year no problems.... fyi its has a smaller circumference than the OEM unit, I found a thick piece of rubber to wedge in one side.

Do not EVER use a ballast resistor in a solid state ignition. Ballast resistors are solely for use in a points distributor.
