We will soon be moving to a new home with a lot of room for parking many cars, but no garage. While the winters are relatively mild here in California, I'd still prefer to keep the 968 and the TR3A out of the rain. So I'm starting to research portable canopy type garages. The main requirement is that it be waterproof. Any suggestions/experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Bill, as an attorney , I'm sure you checked what type of portable garage city regulations indicate you can or cannot put up, and where.. ( that's assuming you care, or perhaps you're just chomping at the bit to take the system on and win the argument LoL -) :-). ) I know that in a few cities around here, including where I live there are some silly regulations prohibiting a portable car port ( canvas, or any other materials ) on your own damn property as in..your own driveway in front of your own garage, if the garage is facing the street and not receded back on the side of the house by X number of yards, etc,. One of our neighbors was even notified by police that he can't keep a cover on his vehicle if the car is parked on the street - even though it was at the curb in front of his house. I digress, so OT somewhat, as I have no idea about what type of portable garages are available and where, but just thought I'd mention this before you go out and spend good money on something which might conflict with local draconian statutes ..maybe you can only put up something that's in a "earth tone" color, no fluorescent yellow or lime green canvas car ports, LOL

Shelter logic makes pretty decent "garages", but you have to make sure you anchor them well.
