rear end gear
#1

I thought I saw somewhere that we had a 3.8? rear end. Does anybody have any experience with changing the gearing to something like 4.10? If so I would love to hear any opinions or idea. I think I would really enjoy having a little taller gears in this car, but haven't heard anything people making the change. Thanks, Mickey

Some racers have replaced the ring and pinion if their 944 transaxle with Audi parts to get around 4.1. I do not know if the same parts will fit in a 968 transaxle.

i meant to comment on this the other day - there is a set of gears that replace the stock ones and push everything down and closer together - it pretty much puts 6th where 5th is now and crams 2nd through 6th closer together (that's a good thing) - it leaves 1st and 2nd alone - i believe jason has a set in his car - runs about 3 grand in parts or something like that - i almost did it to mine, but had to draw a line somewhere

Yes, that is what I did. The price Flash mentions is also correct, about $750 per gear.
