Race Season is drawing closer!!!
#1

Can't wait to start to 2010 season! RSBarn has gone throught he car - has the new stage II head on it and all new billet hubs, hardened studs and now pulls at 212 rwhp and 210 rw torque. That's off essentially a stock motor with chip, header/exhaust, custom intake, polished throttle body - all RSB stuff.

Will be taking the car down to NJMP to instruct and test on 3/27 - then the first race is the Pro IT and the SCCA National at New Hampshire 4/10.

Who else is ready to race?

Hey Ben,
I'm looking forward to seeing you race this year. Sooner or later we will get together for a brew. Are you going to Hershey ? Rico

Yo Ricco - can't make it to Hershey - too much travel for work and getting ready for the season. Spent all weekend removing the last of the carpet glue from the interior and painted the entire interior in black - looks mean :-)

Need to install the new front lip spoiler and I'm ready for the season. If I go really nuts I will clean up the bottom of the car but I'll need to drink a lot of cold beer during that job.

Well I'm ready to hit the track for the first time this year, although at my low level of expertise its hardly racing. Missed the first couple of track days for our local Porsche club. Almost cancelled some surgery to make it down to Philip Island (home of Australian MotoGP and a great race track) but decided that would have been going to far. Sunday is a "Hill climb" event. Short but fun!

Hey Pete - I'll be at NJMP instructing and testing on 3/27-28. Don't think I can do an adjustable rear wing/spoiler per the rules :-( Would be very nice though!

Rico - will shoot you an email - we gotta get together - hell, we're just about neighbors! You around this weekend? Supposed to rain and I'll be in my mega shop working on the car. LMK

Cheers

PS - to our champ in Dubai - more videos - keeping us going during the cold months!!!

It's the SCCA South Jersey region putting on the event. SCCA is not very good at marketing their events beyond the existing members.

Here's the Northeast schedule link:

Got to see some more P cars out there despite the major weight handicaps we get. I am now up to 150 lbs of ballast in my passenger footwell :-(

Got the car down to NJMP for a spring test and shakedown. Par for the course, RSBarn had my car prepped to perfrection. Ran flawlessly all weekend, handling was tremendous and I did feel a tad more power from the headwork done.

Can't say enough good things about these guys. Having a reliable, fast race car is the key to a great weekend of racing and RSBarn makes that happen!

Now go spend your hard earned cash with these guys and go kick some BMW butt! (that's the only chassis in my class that can keep up with the 968

Any chance you guys could post your events on the calendar here? I'd really like to find the time to come and see your cars on the track.

Ben,
Forget NH, but I think we should get a 968 party going for LRP S,mmit and NJ events.
We have lots of rookie track enthusiasts in our area. They need to come out and see a Heavy 968 scootin!!!
I'll see if I can attend and help

New Hampshire is a crappy track and I wouldn't go if it wasn't a points race. 7 Hour tow. I had a return trip that was 9 hours once. I will also do the Granite State National this weekend and will go against full blown World Challenge Touring cars and Grand AM ST cars. I'm down about 50 hp to these cars but it's a short track so the power isn't everything - handling is at NHMS.

Let's do some 968 stuff at NJMP - now both of those tracks are outstanding - AND close to RS Barn. Hope to see you at the track, Pete! I think the Firehawk needs to come out and race in Super Touring with us! You will be well matched with the front runners but will have to load in some weight. You got a SCCA license???
