I live in a condo and have no tools....



and my mistake its Ruf Porsche in Addison (North Texas) Shop looks awesome just wondering if anyone has used them. There price seemed reasonable....less them insisting to R&R the water pump...why everyone's willing to take a good part and trash it (out of fear) is beyond me.

I hear you - I've generally had better luck living by the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" rule, than trying to overkill the maintenance. On these engines, though, there's so much that has to come off (including the belts) to get the the water pump that many people feel this is a good time to do it.



Personally, given the high cost (~$350 for a new one, from the little checking I've done so far, which strikes me as outrageous for such a simple device), I would have left mine in at my upcoming belt change. But I've noticed that my water temperature has been gradually creeping upward, which of course could be caused by many things, but, especially since I'll be doing the job myself, I figure I might as well do the pump (and the thermostat, of couse) while I'm in there.



Anybody know of a good source for either a new or quality remanufactured water pump that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?
