Bosch Platinum +4 Sparkplug
#21

Years ago I had discussion with a Bosch rep on these plugs and why so many Toyota owners complained that they would not run well in their cars. The rep admitted that they were aware of the concerns and that they were working on the issue. Of course nothing fixed the issue and it appears that other cars do not run too well with them as well.

I run the MGK Iridiums in all of my cars. No issues.

i highly recommend going to www.sparkplugs.com and poking around on their site - it's a great site and there is a wealth of information there about plugs - it will really open your eyes about the differences in plugs, which ones are for what applications, and which one is right for you

Has anyone tried Beru Ultra X sparkplugs?

I recall a Beru ad ( magazine I think, where they claim based on tests conducted on dozens of different vehicles the Beru plugs will increase the HP by about 5 ponies, and that's over any kind of plugs you currently run in that car ), a claim

backed by a money back guarantee. What a great marketing ploy.. gee, I wonder what percentage of people who buy these plugs are about to dyno the car to validate that claim, and hassle with returning a few spark plugs ?! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/dry.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

That being said however, who knows - they may very well be the best out there and give the car a touch more power, but until someone runs them in the 968 and is happy with the results... the jury is still out, as far as I'm concerned.

NGK Iridium are great. Also put them in all 3 cars, just because they run so well in the P-mobile

I think I'll stick with NGK or Denso iridiums for now, as I know they're proven.

I have been running the standard Bosch Wr7DTC (triple electrode) and have had no complaints. Since they have been in the engine for two years now I decided to give the NGK Iridium plugs a try. The car does seem to acellerate quicker and it idles about 75 RPM higher than it did with the old plugs. I am about to take a 3,000 mile plus trip to Georgia and back so I will check the fuel mileage while I am gone. So far I like them just fine. Good luck, Bob Blackwell.
