Clutch Pedal Slow Returning -

I've finished up installing new front brake rotors and pads. I had replaced the brake and clutch fluid earlier. The clutch went to the floor during the latter operation. Thanks to advice from Forum members, I purchased and installed a new braided clutch hose, raised the rear of the car on jack stands, and bought a Motive bleeder. That restored clutch operation, but I also took the precaution of further bleeding the clutch slave by hand. I now have the issue I have read about here in the past: the clutch pedal doesn't full return when I use it in first and reverse gears. It returns in a regular manner in the other gears, where I find I slide my foot off the left side rather than nursing it backward off the pedal. And as a matter of fact, I recall that I was sometimes feeling the pedal tap the bottom of my foot after I operated the clutch in first gear before this process began. It's very easy to lift the pedal with the left foot, but there's got to be a better solutiion.

If your clutch and hydraulics are good and no air, you may try adjusting the pedal.

there are two adjustments- one is related to pedal height - the other affects the boost spring tension -
there is a shaft and a nut for each at the pedal
see page 30-5 of the workshop manual

The same thing is happening in my car, but in every gear. yet it's not consistent with my car. Sometimes it returns other times it sticks.
Finally got my car up to the Barn and Pete broke it down for me. I'll try to repeat what I was told. It had to do with a pin that sits between a fork in the clutch mechanism. After sometime that pin gets corrosion/dirt build up and much like a door hinge, needs either cleaning or a bit of lube so as to function smoothly. He has seen this many times and that normally does the trick.

Got exactly the same issue rhude. Intermittent and low frequency. Can you add some detail as to where this pint and fork is? Inside the car - behind the firewall? Maybe a picture if that's possible? I take it that Pete fixed this for you by cleaning and lubing the pin?
Thanks

Ditto for me - I have the exact same symptom, though it doesn't happen all that often. It happens primarily when I first drive the car, and tends to go away after things have warmed up. When I'm next under the car, I'll take a look at that pin.

Its the pin bearings on the clutch fork. Remove the rubber plug from the bell housing (its probably missing already). Spray CRC up there liberally (not WD-40).
Repeat often.

Thanks, Jay, but exactly which CRC product are you referring to? Their general cleaner, or something specific? Thanks.
