ABS brakes, seem to lock up first - lampler - 03-22-2006

Hello,

I made a round the block test, the road was wet and I got the feeling that the ABS was locking the wheels for a short moment. There was not the same pedal movement as on my Volvo, when the ABS is activated. I checked the ABS fuses but OK. Have you any input?

Leif

it might have been - it's supposed to release at lockup, but a lot of things will play into that - tire pressure - odd size mismatch front to rear - larger or smaller diameters - water on the rotors

check your pressures, eliminate variables like that - drive it again

I think this is normal for this car. Just a hint of lockup before the system takes over.

Yup, that's what mine does. I wondered the same thing, there's no pedal fluctuation either.

My old Merkur used to chatter through the pedal like there's no tomorrow. You feel it in the Porsche pulsating at the wheels (corners).

Cool huh?
