I'm glad I am a liberal, green tree hugging democrat who used the word stupid instead of the first word that came to my mind in my last post. And to think I was worried about offending the wealthy!

why is it that any time anybody makes a comment like i did that somebody has to apply it to their own particular life? i'm so sick and tired of thin-skinned namby pambies. my in-laws are jews who went through the mess in WW2 first hand. i am all too aware of what went on.
as for hitler, he had a great idea that had no chance of success, and was grossly misapplied. he was by no means the first though. he is just the one we focus on. we certainly look differently at the english, who did exactly the same thing, but in the name of christ. we look pretty differently at the romans too. the catholic church is responsible for more death and destruction than hitler by a factor of more than 10. why aren't we offended by their actions? history is written by the winner. hitler also did some miraculous things. he took a country from post war bankruptcy and in 18 years nearly dominated the world. were it not for the atrocities, he would be represented very differently in history. i'm not defending hitler, but i find it outrageous that anyone is offended by comments made that only they draw a connection to.
do i think we should weed out bad genes? absolutely. do i think we can do that without creating a bigger problem than we already have? absolutely not. who is to decide what is to be kept and what is to be cut? what is the butterfly effect of such a decision? no way are we, as a society, wise enough to make those kinds of decisions, and they are too big to be in any one person's hands. that doesn't change the fact that i wish we could do something about stupid. but again, if we get rid of stupid, who would watch WWF?
so, to anybody who finds racist or politically incorrect comments offensive, i say "toughen up and get over it". life is a bitch. i'm a short, overweight, bald, middle-aged, elitist snob mick/dumb swede, but i'm not going to get offended when somebody makes a comment about it, or finds fault with any of those things. it is what it is. i'm in charge of what i think, not somebody else. only i can decide if i want to be offended by something, and i am intelligent enough to decide not to be offended by anything, and it is absolutely a choice. we choose to wallow in self pity and complain for our lot in life, or to move on past whatever it is. i choose to forget all behind me as the past and irrelevant, and look only forward. they say that those who ignore the past are doomed to repeat it. well, people don't change, so it's going to happen whether we look back or not. i find it all a huge waste of time to even think about the past.
now, if we could weed out the genes for greed and power, we might actually have something, but then would we lose the drive for progress?
you have to take the good with the bad. hitler and ghandi came out of the same genetic blender.

Perhaps the administrators might consider creating a politically incorrect section where all comments would be welcome without fear of reprisal or offense. Maybe charge a slight admission every time or just a membership fee. All monies of course would go to the Forum. So no pay no type and no free reads without the price of admission. Would Mr. holder approve? Lol

Let's see the unemployment rate is now down to 7.4%, of coarse that doesn't include the people who have just quit looking.
Food stamps are now being issued to 47.6 million people up from 31.7 million in 2008 and 23.3 in 2003.
Average household income so far this year is down about $2000.00/year to $52,???
GDP is running at about 1.7%. For 2012 it was 2.2%, about 2.5+ is needed to sustain growth and job creation.
The national debt is heading for 17 trillion, I spelled trillion because I don't think there is enough room for the zeros on this line

So Jay is craving a roasted piglet and goes to restaurant far away from home where no one that knows him could possibly see what he's eating.. But as things go, a member of the same temple happens to be traveling there, sees Jay through the window sitting with a full roasted pig with all the trimmings plate in front of him, walks right in and confornts Jay, exclaiming : - Jay, how could you ?!! lol - rap - not necessary. nothing is offensive unless you choose it to be, and that is your own shortcoming. similarly nothing is truly politically incorrect. all comments are valid. there is no reprisal for anything said.
tom - i don't know where you are getting your information, but almost everybody i know or have heard of who was out of work is now working. if you go back and look at things during the bush era, things are better now than they were then. are they great? no. but they are improving. as for the GDP, we need to rethink how we do business before we can fix that one. we lived high on the hog for far too long. now it's time to tighten the belt and live like the rest of the world. as for the debt, you can blame that one on the wars we got into, which had nothing to do with obama. you can thank dubya for that one.
as for obamacare, i don't think it's perfect, but since we continually fail to provide free health care for the low income, something had to be done. we cannot continue to go on like we have and not make health care affordable. unfortunately as long as we allow the pharmaceutical industry and hospitals to run unregulated and for profit, no such plan will truly succeed. still, it's better than what we had. i was in the ER last monday, and it was packed full of mexican immigrants without health care. guess who gets to pay for that?

Key words there are "I know". I don't know of anybody out of work and looking but I'm retired and so are most of my friends. I suspect your household income is well about the average and you probably don't know anybody thats struggling either. Household income is down about $2000.00 from $54K last year. Do a search and pick any dot gov. The numbers are easy to find. The national debt in 09 was 10 trillion today it's headed for 17T. As for Bush, he's been gone for 5 years but Gitmo is still open and El Qaeda though weeknd is still a factor and Putin is laughing his ass off. (he did at Bush too) Now we're going to hire God only knows how many IRS agents to enforce OBamacare? Give me a break. Do we need to reform health care? that's a no brainer, but as Nancy said "...you'll have to read it to find out what's in it. "Yeah and hire an attorney to explain it.....Oh wait a minute maybe I can get Lois Lerner to explain it to me, she's not doing anything anyway."

bush got us into a cycle of having to pay for the wars he started. we were committed to being there after he left office. that bill is only now coming due. this one is a no brainer. fortunately there is a plan to reduce that debt. cutting the military spending is going to go a long way toward fixing that. we have no business having a military like we do. that needs a complete revamp.
if we would toughen up and turn people away from the ER unless they had insurance, we wouldn't have to have obamacare. of course then we would have to quarantine and/or kill off those sick people, as we could not let them back into society. if people were legally required to have insurance or ability to pay for care, we wouldn't need it either. but, because people put it low on the priority list, and don't take responsibility for themselves, but still insist on having care, and society refuses to do the logical thing of taxing for and providing basic health care for "free", this is the only option left. like i said, it isn't perfect, but it's better than what has been going on. heck, i'm all for making it 100% deductible, AND charging at least double for medical services to those who don't have coverage. make it ugly not to have coverage. make it illegal, just like car insurance. of course, that will never happen.
as for the irs agents, if we could get a flat income tax passed, or better yet a simple flat rate tax on ALL transactions, we could simply reassign them to manage the health care system. but, the conservatives won't let it happen. they want their write-offs and exemptions too much.
the system is an overcomplicated mess. we spend way too much on bureaucracy. but, as long as special interests are allowed to buy the government they want, it will continue to be dysfunctional. as long as we continue to think that people will take responsibility for themselves, yet allow loopholes, we will continue to have what we have. can you imagine what it would be like if we actually had a democracy?

Should it have been dumb Mick/Swede? I speak to a lot of business people and no one has said this is our best year ever or even we are having a good year. The figure gathering for the unemployment statistics has been acknowledged for years to be inaccurate. While pockets and sections are doing well many are treading water. Many business's are trying to figure out the health care changes as delays and exemptions are announced weekly. For those of you who decry the poor with no insurance, we could open another facility and fill it with Medicaid patients. This now is a fast growing part of our economy. Will we, no. Why? Because the reimbursement rates don't pay the per patient expense. Yet this is an under served market. Wait till the public exchanges start to act like HMO's and restrict care and Providers along with low reimbursement rates. So I respectfully disagree with some of the statements being made. Maybe an elitist but not a snob. Besides, who gives a ratstahooey??

One of the things I see is everyone here had to have it cheaper! If it does not cost less I won't buy it. We made everything in this country, now all all we make is debt. If we made, sold and bought everything that we needed in this county....we would have better goods, more people working and good wages and we would own our country instead of mortgaging it to the Chinese. Then we could tell the rest of the freaking world to bite our shiny metal ass and we would be so much better off.
What weapons deal has actually helped us in the long run? I can't really think of one...Let everyone else blow their fool heads off. We have so much to worry about here, why don't we keep some of the billions we send to undeserving asshats in other countries?
You know the hardline clerics actually want to tear down the pyramids? They feel it is the last symbol of the idolatry and needs to come down. They said they never had the technology to do it before..(well they built it brick by brick, I assume the could take it apart the same way) - They don't seem to care that most of Egypt's gross national product is tourism to these very same pyramids...
Why do we even deal with people like this!?!?
