Yeah, that's the first detail I noticed! Criminy, you bought a driver side door and received a passenger door (yes, in horrid condition!).
Last time I checked, doors are not "universal."
Un-freaking-believable.

Here is the latest...NO I have not received the correct door yet.
Promised it was boxed this past weekend and would 'be shipped monday.' Called today to double check. The office girl answers saying she needs help loading it into her vehicle to take to the Fedex place and that she can't go until someone helps her. No one thought of this earlier....????
Wow, great way to run a business......
I don't see myself ever ordering anything form this place again . It would have been smarter for the owner to just refund my money.......

received a tracking number...new old door in transit to my house...hope it's the right one
so that motivated me to remove the damaged door today. Not bad if you have the flat pry tool to do the door plastic locks' . PO or someone stripped the door lock bolts so I had to drill off teh head and vise grip the bolt out. Someone should have Stuttgart to lighten up on the industrial strength threadlock!!! it was on every major bolt(even the door stop pin bolt)
Also, someone has already been messing with this harness...many clips, one broken wire, and the plug mount was bent. Probably stereo install place...
Anyway, couple of tricks:
1) hidden screws under armrest, remove mirror, door handle, and fascia
2) follow the two door wiring harnesses to their respective plugs, which are inconviently located way up in the corner of the firewall. carefully pull out harness through frame pillar. Unbolt door stop pin. unbolt four door bolts and take off door(door should be in the almost closed position when about to remove).
3) pop out door lock pin from nylon connector and take out first, then power lock servo, then power window mechanism, then window, then two hidden screws (8mm?) on posterior inside window track...one behind the rubber window guide, then the posterior window track comes out followed by the door lock.
4) after all this, you can pull the wiring harness out through one of the door cutouts(many little wire holders to undo and some tough bends) you can remove carefully the harness connectors...just take a pic of the pin placements before pulling through so youc an reassemble in correct spot later)

had to weld on two thin washers to the door hinge to everything to line up correctly. Apparently the bondo on the original door was from a pretty good hit to the door because when I checked A pillar hinge alignment , the top hinge was twisted back a few degrees. This would have helped the 944 door fit better if it's hinges were just a little more forward. For a new original door, I had to add aspacer(hence the washers). now all is well and Tomorrow, in go the door guts...

Started placing all new rubber channel guides in the new driver door. As a warning, if your old upper window seal is fine, DON'T put a new one in. This must have been the worst job to have at Stuttgart! At least 45 min to 1 hour to get just this one seal on (PS: start bottom rear corner and work up and around to front)
THEN, I realized I forgot to put on the thin aluminum window trim. Almost all off and start over...1.5 hours for 4 feet of channel seal.
