Stumbled upon this during my daily 968 quest, I apologize if this is a repost.

$40k isn't a bad price ($85k stated invested), wish they had more/better quality pictures. I especially enjoy how that said it was built by "Powerhouse," never heard of them, I wonder if they are as good as Powerhaus? If I were selling this caliber of car, I would know my stuff before spouting off inaccurate information like that.

They are showing the car on their website (parcars.com) as being in inventory and Paul is usually pretty good about maintaining that.

It was looked at by a couple of people who said it possibly had issues. With .net down you can't see the thread.

I know if I were selling a car for $40k, I would use something other than my CAMERA PHONE to take pictures of it.

a good indicator to all of us, that $ for mods to a car goes . . . right down the drain?
$85K invested? Meh. That sux for the previous owner.

I've been looking into that car as well, does anyone know how many miles were on it originally, it had a odometer from a 951 installed when they did all the upgrades, I'm also interested in why it hasn't sold sooner, I read somewhere it was running hot before, can anyone confirm this, and or other issues with it. Supposedly it had 39K on the odometer when the conversion was done, and it still has 39K on it that seems odd? PAR is also claiming it was built to 540 hp, but the article on it states it was 400 at the flywheel. I emailed but didn't get a response.

It was also for sale last fall from someone else (if I remember correctly for $29K at that time). From what I've heard from a few very people in the 951/968 community, this car has never run reliably. Again, that's just hearsay, it may be perfect, but I'd definitley want it gone over with a fine tooth comb by a very good 951/968 specific mechanic.

Any Idea who was trying to sell it last fall? I know it was for sale by PAR in 04 after the original owner sold it to them? I'd love to talk to the previous owner, the car looks great in the pictures, but if it's not reliable then I'd definitely pass. I was thinking about doing this same conversion, well pretty much the same, except I think Powerhaus is now using the Variocam system and this one doesn't, anybody else have any experience with Powerhaus 968 turbo conversions?

Here's what I got from them along w/ some pics when I emailed a while ago:
Steve,
The 1994 968 Turbo is a 4 Valve engine. Photos and a list of the modifications and a photo of the cover of a magazine that featured this car are attached. All of the work was done by Powerhaus in Arizona. Please call me or Paul at 914-637-8800 if you have any further questions.
Thanks, Wally/PAR

Was up at PAR the other day. I ended up purhasing a daily driver 944 from them. Very good experience. While there the 968 Turbo was in their showroom and they kindly popped the hood so we could get a look at the plumbing. Looks nicely done. Took a photo with my cell.
