A pic of my car on my neighbors lift
#1

Here's a pic of my car up on my neighbors lift! It sure is nice to have neighbors like him! It's a six car garage, fully equiped with everything you need to fix a car...

Yes, that's me and one of my very enthusiastic sons! (he was yawning <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/rolleyes.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> )

P.S. I was fixing the coolant leak...

Got to love lifts, I added a Bend-Pac midrise scissors lift in my garage last week <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Is there a mechanical lock for this lift?

I have a KwikLift in my garage. It's a long ramp on which you drive the car, then jack up the low end. Once the low end is jacked up, there are two legs that swing down for support. The KwikLift gets the car about 20 inches up in the air, enough to easily get under the car with a creeper.

I've done lots of work on my cars using the KwikLift. The most recent big project was replacing the transmission in my 1995 Subaru. The company's Web site is here, I think. It cost me around $1,500 and there is no problem driving the 968 onto it. Nothing scrapes or drags.

I wrote a review of the KwikLift on a consumer Web site called Epinions at www.epinions.com/content_77946261124. The picture posted on this site is my KwikLift with my Mazda pickup on it. Click on the picture for a somewhat bigger view.

Yes, I wouldn't get under there without one.

The Bend-pac lift was $1,430 and they loaded it on my car trailer. Two of us were easily able to offload it and set it up. Home delivery was an extra $40, but required the buyer was required to have the equipment to get it off the truck.
