What did your 968 get for Christmas?
#21

Came just before Xmas, but finally got the D1R Strut Brace and Castor Brace...

But she won't get them installed until next Spring... Oh, well...

I also got a custom Harness Bar, unfinished, and am going to have it Nickel Plated to sharpen up the interior...

Oh, and a set of new old stock service manuals... now I have both the 944 and 968 Sets... love 'em!!!

Hi the cover is a form fit model by covercraft here in Sydney Australia but I am pretty sure they are a global company. The cover actually gets supplied with a little grommet for the antenna to go through, but given stereo's add weight, my car doesn't have one, so yes I just removed the antenna. The cover is superb, even with little custom wings for the mirrors. It is not normally or I gues from stock available in 2 tone , but hey just ask. Cost a bit though. Over 500 USA dollars.

The driest holiday season in a long time with very cold mornings and somewhat warm and sunny afternoons. The car got pressed into service as high speed wine delivery vehicle. I never cease to be amazed at the number of cases of wine you can in a 968 with the rear seats folded down.

You just can beat a run through the backroads on a cold, clear morning.

Gee Chris, wouldn't you want a "cab" to deliver wine?

So I scored a bunch of gifts for BigSpeed:

  1. New Fikse FM10 wheels

  2. Rod bearings

  3. 650 lbs springs for the front

  4. Full chassis realignment and corner balance

  5. Fixed polybronze bushings by the torque tube

  6. New header - RS Barn - old one for sale with crack welded

  7. Stripped off all the decals and will have the exterior and interior painted - then wrap the exterior with something awesome (C'mon - I know the current look is pretty lame. And those Kodiak rims look ass...even though they weigh 17 lbs.)

MC968CS...how does the cover accomodate the antenna mast? Seems like keeping it bent will cause the rubber base to crack. Or do you simply remove the mast?

jg968....very nice!

Rob,

I just found this post. I cover my car when I need to leave it outside for any extended length of time, and I remove the antenna mast. It just screws in - piece of cake to take on and off.

Thanks Andy, mine has some cracking in the rubber and I was concerned about putting to much pressure on it. I'll give it a go. The car came with a very nice cover for indoor use and thought it would help keep the dust off between drives.
