Porsche CS Steering Wheel
#1

I`ve been offered a new genuine Porsche CS steering wheel minus the steering hub.

Is there an alternative hub other than Porsche that will do the job and if so where can I locate these? I have been told a genuine hub is no longer available or if one can be found it will cost big $$$.

Any help appreciated.

The hub & steering wheel usually come together. Sunset sells them, they may sell you just the hub. They are still available.. You will need a connector for the horn and a resistor for the airbag light in addition to the hub.

If worse come worst, I'd think one could modify a MOMO hub pretty easily to work.
But I'd only do that if your getting the CS wheel for peanuts.

I have a CS wheel that i have yet to install. I know it's from Sunset, however, the hub will not fit where it's supposed to. Does the hub need to be modified to fit, or do i have the wrong hub? Sorry for hijacking the thread; it just reminded me when i saw it.

I have a 993 steering wheel. To enable it to fit, some of the back side of the hub had to be removed. That allowed the wheel to go far enough onto the 968 splines so that there was sufficient threaded shaft for the retaining nut and lockwasher to be threaded on. Without the machining, there's not enough thread extending past the hub. Hope this helps understand the (potential) issue.
