Porsche 968 Roadster Concept
#21

yeah- you can often make stuff look better in a prototype than you can in production

i like most of it. the extra curve in the door top is nice, though i'm not so sure i like the smaller side window. i definitely do not like the trunk lid, nor the increased angle of the rear deck.

I like the fact that it's missing the little window behind the A pillar. That cleans up the looks of the car quite a bit. The rear fenders are *sexy*, but I'm not so sure about the little lip along where the roof meets the the rear deck lid. Part of me likes it, part of me doesn't.

That is a good looking 968, it looks faster and more nimble than regular 968s.

Yeah, that's interesting but just not right.

It is crap without a doubt.

If I were to drop that much cheddar on a custom body kit (and lose any ability to drive in the rain), I certainly would not want a giant "IFC" embedded into the fiberglass.

What are the wheels on the concept car? Those look awesome. Speedline?

My guess would be speedline 3.6 wheels.

When you do it Bob dibs on your convertible top - you'll need to design and build a new one so you'll need to sell the old one...

Are there any better/bigger pics of that car anywhere? Definitely interesting shapes around the rear fender area.

Absolutely love the lines of this one. One of the "forgotten" prototypes at the museum. What would it take to replicate this?

There are a few pictures in the new issue of Excellence, with a small description, but I am not sure they are much better than the video and there are no interior pictures.

<p style="margin-left: 40px;">That car was ahead of its time. They could release that today and it would sell. .

I love my 968 for what it is & don't hate it for what it isn't!

There is one interior picture if you follow the link under the YouTube video to the Gran Turismo site. There is a funky blue basket handle swooping up and around the passenger side of the shift lever.

the more i look at that car, the more i like the convex curve of the rear hips. i've been trying to figure out how to get that done for 9 years now. i've griped about it for nearly that long. i just haven't gotten myself to the point of removing the rear caps and making new ones.

I dig it. The lines are much better than the cab in my opinion, and the windshield really tops it off. The color choice is excellent for the car as well. I know it was brought up previously, but does anyone have an idea as to the color?

Agree regarding the rear hips. I wonder how that would look without the other design changes.
