Did you ask for a buy back price on the car?

Robert, you certainly do not have to accept the first offer Geico throws out. Do some market research and then notify them in writing of what you think is fair, supported by your evidence. It's as negotiable as buying a new car.

Robert, I feel your pain!

I had a similar Geico experience with my son's Camaro. They will give you a complete printout with the results of their research on the 968's value. You can supply support information that may raise the value and change the outcome, but from my experience they are polite but inflexible. You also have the option of canceling the claim and fixing the car out of your pocket. Another option is to part out your baby and get another 968...I cringe, even as I type these words.

Flash was able to find 2 beauties in a very short time, so maybe this is not an impossible task. This will also remove the "loss" from your policy and will save you insurance money with them or another carrier.

I hope that you save your baby!

Good Luck!

I have as near new a red/black 968 cab as you can find with 25,8xx miles. Comes with LSD, factory 17s (C2 turbo) and a recent concours win. Anyone can PM if interested. It's a beautiful car.

The buy back on my car is 4000.00. I just laughed and signed the title over to them -- now I await for my paultry insurance check of 17,620.00. May my baby RIP.

PS if anyone needs a part let me know as I am taking whatever I can out of her tomorrow.

I have a windscreen / deflector that I purchased three months ago from UKporscheshop that I will be selling too.

Robert,

That sucks, sorry. How much for the windscreen? If I have an cash left after the rotors and pads, I'd be interested for my cab.

Brian

Robert,

Flash mentioned that he is looking for a perfect "valve" cover. The removable unit that says "PORSCHE" on the top of the engine.

2 bolts at the VARICAM black plate and 2 on the opposite side of the cover. Just lifts off.

If you have the large black plastic covers at the back of the engine bay and the front by the airbox, I'd keep them.

Sway bar as well.

Spare/jack/compressor/Tool kit.

How much will you take for the windscreen???

You may as well try and recoup what you can. I dont think you did to bad.

I would like the plastic cover at the rear of the engine compartment. Possibly the tool kit.

Thanks!

Pack it up well for shipping and I'll PM you my UPS number so that you can send it.

Today I removed my personal items from my Porsche before Geico puts her out to pasture. Unfortunately I was unable to open the hood and therefore I am not able to fill most of your parts request -- perhaps if I had a can opener. I saluted her and walked away never turning back. RIP

$17,000!!!!????? Thats Bull Sh*t.

I got $15,500 for mine and it had 120k miles on it.

I know how you are feeling and how you felt. Luckily for you, you didn't have people lying to you about the condition of the car for one month. I still hate my parents for that. You are also very fortunate to not suffer any long lasting injuries.
