My 968 came without floormats, and I'm looking to buy some. I have the two tone black/tan interior, and I've been looking at the mats available from Performance. They have Porsche mats and Lloyd mats. Does anyone have experience with Lloyd?

Is the #585 Savannah Script the factory mat, or was the Porsche logo on the mats? I'd appreciate anyone's recommendations on the matter.

glad somebody else brought this up - i have been waffling on this one myself - i have the original porsche mats black with red lettering - i want to pull them out before they show signs of wear, and give them to somebody here with a red car



my plan is to have black ones with midnight blue or black letting saying "968" in the correct font



i looked at llyods and what i saw on the ones i looked at was a thinner mat with a stiffer backing



anybody else have the same experience?

I have a set of Lloyd mats and they are very high quality. I believe the PORSCHE was the original logo.

I think I remember the guy at Sunset telling me that Lloyds was making the Porsche mats...Sunset was less than Performance as I recall and the color match to my classic gray interior was better that the Performance mats. I went to the Performance shop and trial fit several grays they had in stock.

yeah - that is not something i would sell - somehow i just don't feel right about selling stuff like that - i've sold some stuff, at silly low prices, but i've either disposed of or given away a lot - i'd just give them away - there is one guy here who wanted them, and i intended to give them to him as soon as i found the ones i want - when i do, if he doesn't want them, you can have them - i'm pretty motivated now to complete this car, so it won't be long

Flash - I got some Lloyd's ones made up with 968 in the correct script for my cab, and they look great. To be honest, I haven't noticed if they're thinner or not...they seem pretty similar from memory.

yeah - it wasn't until i actually had one in one hand and one in another that i saw ahything - my factory mats are very thick and have a pliable rubber back, and also have the straps and plastic buckle clips - the ones he showed me thta he said were lloyds were thinner, stiffer, with a different backing, and i think also had different straps



looks like time to reinvestigate - that's cool - i wanted to get this done before the end of the year anyway

I went throught the same process about a year ago on my car. Lloyds made the carpets for Porsche then. No matter, you can buy two diffent carpet weights from Lloyd or a reseller. They come in 32 oz. and 48 oz. I bought the 48 oz. in hopes of cutting road noise (it worked).



Performance sent me some samples of Savannah and Champagne, but I found Cashmere to my liking on my tan/black interior. I already knew it was a Porsche and a 968, so I opted for no script to remind me <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />



I don't know what "correct" script color was, but always figured it subjective. that's why there is chocolate and vanilla...we can choose! Pick what you like, but you can get a thicker 48 oz. mat.

i have lloyd's mats in my car. the p.o. ordered them from performance. mine don't have any lettering on them. i would have probably had 'porsche' written on them in red letters myself.

either way, they are extremely heavy and very high quality. they have straps that hold them onto the seat guides on the floor. the straps have clasps like you'd see on a life jacket or ski vest.

i'm not sure how thick a mat you're looking for, or even the thickness that the p.o. ordered, but i've never seen floor mats this thick in my experience.

I just received my set of Lloyd mats from Performance a few days ago...they are perfect. Took about 2 weeks. The blue carpet (#320) was an exact match and the 968 script in silver is really sharp. Performance was cheapest on the Lloyd products that I could find after checking a half dozen or so places. Now if I can only figure out what color blue my leather is and find a shift boot!

I've had Lloyds mats since I bought the car. Top notch quality, IMO. First set had only the Porsche logo, second set has only the 968 on it, and I just ordered another set ( also from Performance Products ) , this one a dual logo, with Porsche in red and 968 below it in silver...on a black mat.



The red picks up the instrument needles' color, the silver matches the mostly grey interior and the black mat takes care of all the trim components of the interior which are black.



I feel sooo coordinated now, I think I'll get an interior decorator license <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/tongue.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />



p.s. this car is the antithesis of the logo-less, stealthy, "flashmobile" - I got logos, badges, crests, contrasting color accents all over the friggin' place. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/blink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/rolleyes.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

update - they'll be here tomorrow I ordered them on the 14th, and they already shipped on the 18th <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/ohmy.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> I thought the custom-stitching thing would take a bit longer ( ok, I realize the machine takes less than 30 seconds to do that on a mat, but still..)

What is the correct way to secure the mats? My OEM mats came with little black metal clips with a spike type fastener but for the life of me I never figured out how they attach.
