It's already a year old, but you may know that the socialist republic of California has made it illegal to hold your phone while driving. Side note, the police have been pulling people over for this crime.
I just put some phone mounts in the cars (I'm always slow obeying laws), and here are a couple of pics. My wife had bought some stuff that then sat in the garage, and during holiday cleanup I decided to put them to use. It is simply a vacuum mount to the car, and a magnetic mount to your phone. I could find only one place in the 968 that makes sense, and is flat enough to allow the device to hold a vacuum. The glove box door opens fine, just barely clears the mount, and this location doesn't seem to interfere with anything except the passenger's leg space. What do you think, any other good solutions?

Easy Dan, you need to lay back on the Sativa, try a hybrid Indica

I looked through the Ram-Mount web site, and Bulti is right, they have some very solid and well engineered mounting systems.
And because of the other comments, this morning I went outside and added some more equipment to the console. What do you think? You know: pretty well thought out, it's close to the ashtray, within reach of passengers, the driver can select some Grateful Dead on the stereo at the same time as grabbing this equipment, its not visible from passing cars, a good match with a tiptronic car, and will assist the browning of the classic grey door panels. I hope you guys agree its pretty thoughtful and well designed.

FWIW I use the tiniest mount I could find - Kenu Airframe - which clips to the non-venting vent grille over the odometer reset button. Very happy with it - steering wheel blocks a little bit of the view but all in all it is in a very good place for visual input from a map app. Almost everything else on the market struck me as over-engineered.

What else should we expect from someone named "jay"!
As for the phone, I put mine in the cubby hole or leave it in my pocket and use the hands-free function in my stereo deck.

Sativa and Indica were my feline pets:
Cattabis Indica & Cattabis Sativa. We adopted them as sister kittens. Unfortunately, Tiva never grew and didn't make it. Indy, OTOH, is now 6.5 years old and a very spoiled kitty! Sometimes she gets the devil in her and starts running around the house, seemingly bouncing off the walls. We call it "the Indy 500".
Otherwise, the terms refer to Cannabis Sativa and Cannabis Indica, two of the three recognized species of the Cannabis plant.
Bonus question: What is the third species? (And no fair just googling the answer!)

Technically speaking, the two mentioned are
Cannabis sativa and
Cannabis indica. Note the capitals on the genus name only and the italics on both the genus and species name. And I don't have any idea what a third species might be. Gotta love that Carl Linnaeus.

O.K., I can dig the capitalize the first name only, but I have no idea how to do italics on my iPad! So, the answer is "Cannabis ruderalis"! (Please pretend it is in italics). And I'm thinking a little chamber under the hood sitting near the exhaust with a tube running back to the passenger compartment. You could fill it with herb and vaporize as it heats up! And when not in use for that purpose, you could throw a couple of hot dogs and a potato in the chamber and cook your dinner on the way home from work! Elon Musk, eat your heart out!
