personalized plates
#1

got tired of my DS 968 plate, and thought I'd replace it with a message for all those "common" porsches out there..

love that!

i never understood the "obvious" plates, like ones that say what the car is

i also don't like ones you can't understand or figure out (like the owner's initials)

sure, i get that it's their plate and can do any danged thing they want, but to me, it's an unparralleled opportunity to be clever - i like clever

dan - that's clever - good on ya!

my first choice was either QR4911NV ( too long though.. ) or, 911NVQR, which surprisingly, is also too long. not sure why - I see plenty of CA plates with seven characters on them, including personalized ones.. but the online system only permits six and the DMV rep I called also said that's all you can request.

In retrospect, the plates I chose work better anyway.. I never had 911 envy, so no cure needed for such.

zero envy is a more accurate sentiment.

depends on the plate background you choose - the one with the palm tree is 6 - whaletale is 7, etc

Love it and love my plate too. Just when you think you have had as much fun as you can, add a personalized plate. I drove through Virginia and man, I think 9 out of 10 cars down there have personalized plates! Hope to see some funny ones in Hershey.

Very cool.

I’m undecided. The only ones I could come up with were tags that would provoke street racers.

PWRTRIP

TRY ME

NOPASSG

I really liked a couple of them but don’t want that type of attention. Well at least not when the reader is in a faster car

Would love to make a statement on the cars handling as that’s what I truly love about this machine. If only “control freak” cold be squeezed onto a plate.

I also came up with this one.

BLKHSTY

get it?

How about LV4CRVS or LUVCRVS for a "handling statement" plate?

well I'm eventally gonna do one of those inside-joke ones, and I don't care what you guys say.

But I got used to my govt-assigned number and it has an 'SOS' in it which I think looks kinda cool. So haven't made the switch yet.

California dudes, what do you think the best background is? I'm thinking of the whale tail. Or just plain.

I've been waiting to see if anyone else has the same problem that I've been having with the link. I get a numeral 1 in a box, and that's all.

hey, that's weird ! it worked when I posted it ( in the "preview post" mode ) but now I get the same "1" .

not sure how to remedy the problem, since the plate photo can only be saved in gif. or bmp.

Oh well, the plate reads: O911NV

ZERO 911 ENVY

as in.. zip, zilch, nada, not in the least bit impressed or envious of with what "purits" consider the real Porsche ( all the 911 type models ) and seem to believe everybody desires one ..
