PAINT QUESTION
#1

I have a Wimbledon Green Cab, and would like to do some detailing in the engine compartment as I have seen other members do. I would love to be able to apply the same Wimbledon Green paint, but assume I would need a more heat resistant paint. Also, am getting Flash's SuperCharger and thought if possible, that I could paint those hoses as well. I guess my quastions would be as follows:

1. Will the exterior paint hold up to the engine bay temps?
2. If not, how could I get heat resistant wimbledon green paint?
3. Do we have to buy these paints through Porsche, or are there some other sources?

Thanks,

Paul

Paul,

i went with a powdercoat and clearcoat on the valve cover and vanity cover. check your local powerdercoater for their color palette. i also found Eastwood's AlumaBlast paint to work ok on cast aluminum for a more natural finish; see http://www.eastwood.com/ew-aluma-blast-set.html . i don't know of any reliable methods to keep color on flexible hoses...
good luck.
