I'm sure all those 911s enjoyed being passed by a four cylinder. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/tongue.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Looks like a bit of fun. What tyres are you on?

... I was on Bridgestone S02 street tyres... Yes, that turn was great fun! What you don't see: Beside the cars I was chasing, there were a few 911 (964+993) behind me, chasing me all the time. One red 964RS made it to overtake me. But I think I performed fairly well against all the 911s...

Danke for positng.. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/cool.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Just curious did you install an aftermarket chip? It's sounds like you're close to the rev limiter on the downshifts.

...yes, I have a chip installed, which raises the rev limit up to 6700rpm and gave me a little bit more throttle reponsiveness, but not really more torque or hp...

The factory limit is approximately 6800. Most aftermarket chips bump the limiter up to 7100 rpm [or 7700 for track use]. And, most have experienced a noticeable increase in power.

...sorry, was a bit confused... I have a chip installed which raises the limiter by 500rpm from 6700 rpm (according to what I have read) to now 7200rpm...

I haven't put my car on a power testing station yet (with and without chip, same day, same climatic conditions...), but I doubt there will be an objective increase in power. At least sometimes the car "feels" if it has a bit more torque on accelerating from low revs, what I meant with "throttle responsiveness". I remember the -long time ago- discussions on 968.net about this topic and the you can get at best a minute increase in power by chipping non-turbo cars...

According to the programmer of the chip, the standard chip limits the fuel flow on full throttle acceleration from lower revs due to fuel consumption reasons. At least this thing was "corrected" in my chip in addition to the changed rev limiter setting...
