This probably isn't the place for this question, but the main reason I'm asking is to find out whether I have a limited-slip differential.
I've seen that some people have a reference source where they can look up what options the car has (had) when it came from the factory by knowing the VIN. Is that publicly available?
Or; more directly, how can I tell if I have a limited-slip differential?
I looked at the label pasted in the trunk, but it was not very helpful. Is code 09991 "manufactured from the exclusive-programme" really an exclusive thing?
Appreciate any help.

No, they just used the one code (220) on <acronym title='Limited Slip Differential'>LSD</acronym> 968s no matter which type of <acronym title='Limited Slip Differential'>LSD</acronym> they had.
Greg,
As for your car, only two factory options, XD4 painted crest center caps (on the standard 16" wheels) and the LT partial leather in black.
As I explained, you see the 09991 exclusive program code because your car has the XD4 center caps which was an option that was part of that program.
Good luck,
Jeff

The interesting thing is that 22% of the M030 968 coupes did NOT come with <acronym title='Limited Slip Differential'>LSD</acronym>. Of all the cars you think would have the option!

When I purchased my 968, I sent a copy of the title to Porsche, and they called me back with the "info". Unfortunately, they were mistaken in that the nice lady there was just reading the information off of the build tag in my trunk, and matching the codes up with the list she has. She misidentified a couple of the numbers because the option numbers had changed over the years, and she could not really help beyond the list she had. I guess it's critical to have an option code list that is appropriate to both the model and the year.
I don't know where Jeff gets his data, but when he provided information based on my VIN, his info was far superior to what the person I spoke to at Porsche was willing or able to provide.
