Hello All,
I just gotta discuss this with people who know and love 968's. Ever since I picked up this car I haven't had much of a chance to really drive it. But the times that I have, people always seem to want to stop and talk about it. I have never really experienced this before with my other cars. I have always regarded them as somewhat rare and special. But the 968 is the only one that is able to draw attention to itself. Do any of you expeince this a lot as well? I guess that this is something common to those who own a Porsche? What do you think?

I've owned four different Porsches - 944, 944 turbo, Boxster and my 968.
None of the other ones got 1/10th the questions/comments/looks as my 968!

Unusual, attractive cars get attention. You will get used to it, and hopefully enjoy it. My 968 doesn't get as much as my E-type Jag, but same principle.

Hey, welcome to 968Land and to the forum! Glad I'm no longer the newbie here! The guys here are great, very willing and happy to help with ideas, info, and suggestions.
It's been great fun to have a rare and unique car that few people know and everyone's curious about. It's such an unusual car that I've been at events or walking through town and had people comment about my car -- when it's nowhere near me! They've seen the car and (maybe 'cause I''m blonde?) they remember it and me.
I am constantly getting questions about my 968 -- often from Porsche owners who have never heard of a 968 before! My favorite question was recently from a guy who asked, "Is that a new model this year?" I've also had comments from people asking if it's really a Porsche. One this week said he never really cared for the look of Porsches, but he loves the look of my 968, wants to know where he can get one. And for sure, the car is a great conversation-starter at any bar (or parking lot).
These cars really are rare headturners -- that's part of the fun! In addition to the huge smile factor when I slip behind the wheel. I can't imagine ever selling mine.

Even after 2+ years of it, it's still a new experience every time someone comments!

I have to say that the more I drive this car, the more it puts a smile on my face. I saw this driver of a VW GLI going in the opposite dirrection, and his head just followed my car going passed him.
I think the only thing that I don't like is my fellow coworkers now look at me with this suspicious look that among all of the lay offs, that I somehow got a major raise. Not the case at all. It's just that I have too many cars so they don't understand my madness. It really isn't madness. I love cars and nothing I own is over $14K. In fact my Porsche is the most expensive car i own.

LOL I bought an imperfect car so I did not have to go nuts with it. Nothing sort of a good body man and a respray will help mine.

I hear ya. When I first got mine I stayed away from everyone on the road; afraid to get a stone chip. Now I drive it like I stoled it. (but it's clean )
