Newbie 968 owner

Hello everyone.
I just purchased a 94 Cab . Imported it into Canada from Chicago. Needs a little work, but all in all not too bad. Been driving a 89 3251 CAb for the last 13 years. Still my daily driver.

Cheers

An excellent choice.

If you want more information send a PM to Jeff Coe (Jeff968). He is the PCA Register Advocate and has all the factory information on 968 cabs.

Look around a bit and enjoy!

Thank you for the intro's. I just found out today that I have a potentially huge problem with my 968. Porsche will not send me a recall letter without having my local dealer inspect the car first. 1250.00 for them to look at it and about another 1250.00 for stickers and stuff. Thats 25% of the value of the car.
Porsche just changed their rules 3 weeks ago. Does anyone know of a US dealer that will do the letter for a fee?
I'm feeling exsasperated over this.

Sorry, what kind of recall? For $2,500 you can buy a lot of repairs, or does this have to do with importation?

In Canada, before I can get the car registered, the govt has to be satisfied that there are no outstanding recall notices on the car. Before I bought it, I did a Carfax and if there were any they were all fixed.

Porsche CDA charges 1250.00 just for the inspection.

However, I think I solved my problem. I was talking to a very helpful person in Bellingham Wa. and she will give me the letter for 25.00
Until I receive the letter, I wont rest but I feel better than 1.5 hours ago.

Thanks, I just received my inspection forms from RIV and (fingers crossed) I hope to be driving my car by months end. What a hassle Porsche CDA has made it to import a 15 year old car! They did not make a customer out of me. I bypassed them, and got things done with the help of the US dealers. (25.00 vrs 2500- 4500.00 ) They were way more accomodating.
