Name is John and live in Alexandria, VA.

Purchased a 1995 968 Coupe (tiptronic) Needs a bit of TLC as it has been sitting for two years after a suspected timing belt break. Good news is I like working on them as much as driving them so I'm up for the challenge and cant wait to get it in the garage to take the covers off and have a look.

Currently also have an 87 944 NA dedicated for DE track use. Bought the 968 to drive nice and be a cool second car for my wife who is just about tired of her Honda Mini Van (except for the fact we need it at times)

Welcome to the forum!

I know the car you bought, but unfortunately, I only know the same story about the history as you were told. Get in touch anytime!

Hi John,

Welcome to the forum! I spent some time (7yrs) in the Richmond area and worked for a company that had an office in Alexandria. Nice area! There are plenty of folks around here that like to get their hands dirty too, and plenty of information already in the forums. If you don't find what you're looking for, don't hesitate to ask questions.

Thanks Darryl,

You have a motor in the parts car you have? I may be in the market for a head soon or a rebuildable engine.

John,

Head has already been sold....still have the block. If the car you bought really did jump the timing belt, some valves are bent.....just a matter of how many. Block should still be fine, but it'll need a head job and new valves.

Welcome, and good luck with the project. Hopefully the internal engine damage isn't too severe.
