New TN 968 Owner
#1

Hey Guys,

New to this forum - spend a lot of time on Rennlist and Pelican but am excited to have a 968-specific board.

I picked up a '93 black/black coupe back in October in very rough shape and have slowly been reviving it. It is a 6-speed with the LSD. It was extremely rough running after sitting for 5+ years so I went ahead and did the water pump and belts right away. Put in some fresh gas and Techron and got it fired up. Been driving it since then and it has gotten much livelier the more it is driven. I also replaced the hall sensor and head gasket. It is a strong motor - all chains looked healthy, oil pressure is strong, and no leaks.

The paint is in very rough shape with some areas where the clear coat is gone entirely. Will repaint the front bumper and try to restore the rest of the paint. I will get some pictures up on here soon.

The plans are to turn it into a weekend driver/track toy. I want to be able to blast through the countryside or enjoy it on the track. I come from a Porsche family (dad still has his '73 911) and spent countless weekends at Road America with PCA chicago region.

Cheers!

Welcome. Have fun at the track. We are often the only 968's out and certainly enjoy a comradrie with the few others when they show!
