Just search " Porsche 968" and you'll find it.

Why not contact some restoration places? I would bet someone could refurb yours and it would cost less than a used one.

In the same token once its out of the car it would be pretty easy to test and repair so DIY would be possible, just a little time consuming.

Yesterday I went to the offices of Porsche Canada in Mississauga and pleaded my case to them. These are the same guys that sent me to the "Explore the Core" test drive of the new 911s with the PDK transmission - at that time I guess I was special so I hope it hasn't worn off yet!. They will try to have a new wiring harness, specific to my VIN, fabricated for me at the factory. If so, this will be the best option. Not the cheapest but the best. If not, one of the other options will be needed to be made to work. BTW, I was unable to find anything on Ebay (I have never bought anything there in my life so perhaps I didn't search right) even hinting that somebody might have that harness.

This whole business of buying parts from dismantlers where you need to pay for it before you see it and, in the case of something like a wiring harness that might (no, make that probably) be no better than what you already have, is not appealing to me.

I will get it back on the road somehow.

Thanks, but I was excluded since I live in Canada when I tried to bid. Porsche Canada did call me today requesting my VIN and, if it is at all affordable and possible, I am going that route. Remember, we live up here in Rubber Boot, Canada. Far from the bustle and hustle of Bigtown, USA. And far from all the amenites of life.

went back tonight to try to contact the guy to see about just agreeing on a price now, ship it to me and get the job done and there it was, gone. Porsche of Canada did email me, however, and want my VIN to see if a new one could be made for me. Time just keeps a trudgin' on. And, like Marc Bolan, "and meanwhile, I'm still thinkin".

Well I decided today to give it another go. Pushed down on all the connections yet again, a wiggle her and a jiggle there, recanted the magic citations, threw the One ring in the Cracks of Doom, slayed an Orc, received sufficient counsel from Elrond then, at the last minute, looked to the east and bowed low to Zuffenhausen and then, behold, the car (now) works perfectly. It was only the last part that I did not do all the times before. Drove 150 km without incident. So who knows - not I as I am but a lowly owner. Nonetheless, it will be fun while it lasts. But I still plan to get a harness if I have to steal one from one of you!
